Downtown Macon Parking Advisory Board 

The following form is an application for Macon-Bibb County residents who are interested in serving on the Downtown Macon Parking Advisory Board (DMPAB). This application is subject to review by the board of the Macon-Bibb County Urban Development Authority. All members of the DMPAB must be appointed by the Urban Development Authority. Completion of the application does not guarantee appointment to the Downtown Macon Parking Advisory Board.

The purpose of the DMPAB is to provide guidance and community input related to downtown Macon’s paid parking program. The Downtown Macon Parking Advisory Board advises the Urban Development Authority on the creation and implementation of existing and proposed parking policies, including paid on-street and off-street parking, parking garages, special parking policies, and parking strategic plans. The DMPAB is comprised of 7 members representing different interests.

Interested persons must be residents of Macon-Bibb County, may not have any outstanding parking fines or violations and must be eligible to serve as a representative in one of the following capacities

  • 1 member of the Urban Development Authority Board 

  • 1 downtown business owner (Business must be located within areas currently served by paid parking) 

  • 1 Employee of a downtown Macon Business  

  • 1 downtown Macon resident (Resident must live within areas currently served by paid parking) 

  • 1 citizen representing the disabled community.  

  • 2 citizens at large  

Individuals interested in serving on the advisory board in the residential representative, downtown employee, and business owner seats may be required to provide additional proof of eligibility (i.e. a business license, paystub, or active lease).

All appointed board members must meet with UDA staff for an orientation on the history of the paid parking program and existing and planned policies and organizational goals. 

DMPAB serve in voluntary capacity and receive no compensation for their participation with the DMPAB.
